With the logo opened in photoshop you are free to change and edit it as much as you like. But most importanly you will need to edit the text and re-name it to your custom text. To do this you must have the fonts installed on your computer, if you don't then open the "fonts" folder and copy the font files to your windows font folder. [Start > Run > fonts] Once you have finished changing the header to your needs you need to save it! Go to [ File > Save As ] and save over the file named "top_logo.gif" (in the image folder - this replaces the default header image with your customisation) and your finished with the photoshop editing! ------------------------------------------------ [ -= EDITING HEADER FOR NON PHOTOSHOP USERS =- ] ------------------------------------------------ If you do not have Adobe Photoshop you can not edit the top header please don't worry! I have provided a blank header inside the images folder. The file is called "top_logo_blank.gif" and all you will need to do is edit it in the graphics editor of your choice and apply your text and any further customization. ---------------------------------------- [ -= EDITING THE SITE LAYOUT (HTML) =- ] ---------------------------------------- You must be familiar with editing html, the templates are easy to customise as you get the full source code. Feel free to edit the code as much as you like, change the default links, titles etc. I'm not going to write a tutorial on how to actually edit the html, I assume that if you have downloaded this template, you have knowledge of editing HTML layouts! Then all you need to do is upload to your web host! --------------------------------------- [ -= EDITING THE BLANK SITE LAYOUT =- ] --------------------------------------- I have now started to create a completely blank template for quick editing. The file is called "blank_index.html" and everything on that page is blank including the header, various images and content. So if you are finding it hard having to delete various things on the actual web template this file should be the best solution to use. -------------------------- [ -= MAKING NEW PAGES =- ] -------------------------- It's a common question but many people don't realise how easy it is. If you want to make a new page for the template simply open up index.html for example and go to [ File > Save As..] and save as yournewpage.html and then edit the content on that page. Keep repeating the process until you have completed all of your site pages. -------------------------- [ -= COMMON QUESTIONS =- ] -------------------------- :: How do I make my link's open up in the iframe? + Make sure the iframe has a name, the name is usually iframe. In the link tag make the target point to the iframe's name. link here :: My images arn't showing when I uploaded them!? + Make sure you have uploaded the images in a folder called "images" in the root directory on your host.
